City Views #509: Walking Home 9

The view down onto Mülheim’s little side street called Bocksberg from up on the Muhrenkamp. This is the shortcut from our neighbourhood into the inner city and the shopping mall around the highrises, of which you can see two in the background. The actual path goes down to the lower street, the Dickswall, while the pedestrian bridge crosses over it. The house complex at the left was actually built only in the early 1990s and is one of the newest buildings in this neighbourhood.

Good Old Chips II

The C64’s memory chips. 64 kilobytes RAM and 20 kilobytes of ROM was all it needed. This photo alone is more than 10 times as large as the C64’s memory and would not even fit on a whole floppy disk!

Balcony Flowers 2016 #1

And just for fun I’m going to seamlessy continue the Balcony Flowers into the new year with another photo of the now identified European Nightshade blossom from January 1. I only have a very few Balcony Flowers photos left right now, but I’m sure the first early spring flowers are not far away!

City Views #508: Walking Home 8

This gap between the houses of Mülheim’s Muhrenkamp didn’t even use to have stairs until the pedestrian bridge was built – before the so-called Bocksberg was just a dirt road down to the Dickswall. I don’t know much about the history of this peculiar little street, but I read somewhere that it was originally located 50 meters either to the East or to the West. This incarnation here must have been at this spot for more than 60 years, because it’s even visible on aerial photos from the 1950s.
