More very slow unfolding and lengthening…

The view from the other side – actually from the other side of the Dickswall over to the wall on which the Eduardstrasse ends. On the right is the old house, which is sometimes referred to as the Herrenhaus, on the left is the gap where presumably once another house was standing. Today this is used as a parking lot by the nearby car rental agency. Behind the wall on the upper level you can see the trees and houses of the Eduardstraße. There’s no way to get a clean shot of the house from this perspective because of all the streetlights, signs and trees, but better photos are coming up in the next posts.

The unfolding begins!

At least the trees know to behave properly this winter :-).

The flowers certainly seem to think it’s spring around here!

The blossom-to-be is really beginning to take shape now.

Since the new year is already almost a week old, I think it’s time to restart the City Views series with some unseen perspectives. This is the northern end of the street where I live – the Eduardstraße literally ends in an old brick wall which seems to have once been part of a house which has been long, long gone. Behind the wall is a ten or so meter drop down to where the Dickswall is – and while there is no building anymore directly below the end of the Eduardstraße, there is a lovely old house right next to it. I have not been able to find out much about it except that it must be from the 19th century or earlier and that it has been recently renovated after it had gone through multiple owners. The view from the Eduardstraße shows the close proximity to the ubiquitous highrise buildings of the inner city. Views from the other side of the wall are coming in the next postings.

It’s not really real, but I couldn’t help making yesterday’s so-so sunset pretty with some HDR help :-).

Still experimenting with the flash and different settings – I think the photos are getting sharper.
