A closeup of the churches peeking over the houses, shot from Mülheim’s Althofstrasse. This is of course not possible in the summer, when the green trees hide the churches from this perspective! It was basically a test if I could take a good handheld shot with the telezoom of the SX1 from the same position I shot the previous photo – and it worked reasonably well.

Those big, candle-like blossoms were growing on huge stalks near the supermarket parking lot this summer. They were quite popular with all sorts of insects, but I only caught this fly on camera!

Looking up the east end of Mülheim’s Althofstrasse – which, after crossing the Kaiserstrasse further up, leads right into the church hill. You can see the tops of both church towers in the background – the square one is catholic, the pointed one further away protestant.

I completely forgot to post the Moon from Saturday evening – we had a break in the lousy weather late at night and I was able to snap some photos for another round of stacking. About 20 images as usual, this time with less processing save for some wavelet sharpening via Registax.
