The next-to-last photo from Oberhausen – I took this one standing on a bridge crossing the combined tram and bus tracks. The repeating girders and streetlamps looked fantastic together.

City Views #291: Oberhausen 13

This somewhat futuristic area is one of the combined bus and tram stations in Oberhausen, which always make me somewhat jealous because we don’t have those here in Mülheim!

Another look down Oberhausen’s Mülheimer Strasse with the church towering in the background. Sadly I didn’t have time to walk over there or I would have taken some closer photos of the church.

One more view from the bridge of Oberhausen’s Mülheimer Strasse crossing one of the main railway lines in the area. In this photo, another freight train obliged me with coming into the shot and you can also see parts of the Turbinenhalle complex in the background I showed on the earlier photos. The sign says OBERHAUSEN HBF 1200m – the main railway station is 1.2 kilometers in the direction the train is going. If you look at the Google Maps link I posted yesterday, you can follow the railway line to the west through the big triangle and to the south to see the station.

A different, wide-angle view of the railway line crossing Oberhausen’s Mülheimer Strasse. Here you can see the slight curve the line makes, this photo was taken from almost exactly this point on Google Maps looking to the east.

Looking down at the main railway route between Oberhausen and Mülheim from the bridge that was part of the previous photo. The long lens shot exaggerates the busyness of the area a bit, but there’s even a freight train coming through!

Looking in the other direction on Oberhausen’s Mülheimer Strasse, a church is peeking over the greenery.

Here’s the landscape version of yesterday’s photo with the look down the Mülheimer Strasse in Oberhausen, with some more signs to the right. Including that M-place I showed earlier :-).

A look down the Mülheimer Strasse in Oberhausen in direction of the old water tower. I had several shots of these and all of them looked good, but it was hard to choose. This is the portrait version, another landscape version is going to be in tomorrow’s post because I couldn’t decide between them!
