And… evicted! I cut off the whole branch with the caterpillars still on them and relocated it to the ground off the balcony… but not before taking some more photos on the table – the weird blue background is just the plastic tablecloth. No caterpillars were harmed during the making of these photographs :-).

Itsy Bitsy Spider #2

Despite the nasty weather, the little spider I spotted recently is still there and I also saw a second one on the other side of the balcony. Here is the “left” one during some bungee jumping action – from the markings this could only be a garden cross spider (araneus diadematus)!
