Kitchen Flower #18
The little Amaryllis, looking very pretty with the help of the flash. This is going to be the last photo post of 2014 – but I may possibly be back for a quick post after midnight with some fireworks :-).

On the other side of the bridge and in the shadows of the highrise buildings (which are all out of sight here) is the Hans-Böckler-Platz. This is one corner of it – where the lawn with the pathway today is, was once a giant sandbox which no children ever used to play in because it was always full of dog poop. It was only recently turned into a bit of grass. This is also known as the windiest corner of the city, because even the slightest wind is catching between the highrises and creating a terrible mini-storm. But you have to go through there if you want to go to the postoffice, railway station or shopping center!

The snow-dusted maple tree – this is actually a long-exposure night shot because the snow had already melted from the branches in the morning. On the far left there’s also a bit of balcony with the christmas tree visible – look at the balcony rails for the amount of snow we got, maybe 1-2cm :-).

So , where were we before the short holiday break? Walking over the right pedestrian bridge on Mülheim’s Dickswall. This is the view to the east again, but this time in a wide shot.
