The White Duck

There are surprisingly many of those lovely vintage Citroen 2CV6 (called in Germany Die Ente – The Duck) around in our neighbourhood – I hadn’t seen this one before which I saw parked somewhere last Friday. Someone really loves this car – it even seems to have the name “Marie” as evident from the sign in the small read window! Also notice the contrast to the modern car parked on the other side – now which one has more character?

Another Amaryllis petal closeup – it looks like a pink ocean wave!

It looks really drab here in the Winter, but when the trees are green it’s actually a nice corner. Ahead and a bit to the right is the “rear” shopping center entrance, which I didn’t get a photo of because there were some of the more disagreeable folks around who probably would not like to be photographed.

Birdspotting 2015 is off to a good start! Because the Blackbirds are not grain-eaters and have no interest in the bird feeder, we sometimes put a sliced apple in the balcony flowerbox, which has been well and thankfully received. Here, the Blackbird male had already spotted me, but didn’t fly away at once when I was taking photos through the balcony door. There’s still a bit of apple stuck on his beak :-).

I thought that a few closeups of those Amaryllis petals were in order…

Sign Forest

Just a funny one-off street shot that wouldn’t have worked in black and white. I did this at least once before, but I decided to give it another shot with the new camera – it’s not crystal sharp, but okay.

This Zinnia was growing some additional petals from the top! :-)

When you walk to the left shopping mall entrance, you have two of the highrises beside you – you’re literally walking in their shadows, especially in the afternoon when they’re blocking out the sun.
