The Snowpecker

When it was snowing like crazy on Saturday, I saw our resident woodpecker working industriously on a big branch of the maple tree in front of our balconies. It wasn’t easy to get a good shot and this is the only one that turned out halfway acceptable, but it’s the best one I managed yet!

We had some rain at the end of August, but the yellow Oxeye Daisies seemed to enjoy it!

City Views #342: City Walk 37

One of the small side streets connecting Mülheim’s Leineweberstrasse with the Schloßstrasse – this one is called Löhberg and after crossing the pedestrian zone it goes right through to the Rathausmarkt, the city hall square.

City Views #341: City Walk 36

A view down Mülheim’s Leineweberstrasse, a little bit further down the street. The pavement here was not always this wide, a long time ago the street was open to cars in both directions and there were no trees at all. If you look closely, you can also see our favourite shop in this photo, the only reason we even walk this far down here.
