City Views #349: City Walk 44

Another slightly closer photo of the main Forum shopping mall entrance here in Mülheim – I included this especially because here you can see where the walkway down to the lower level is at the right side. I also processed a colour version of this shot. And yes, the lens seems to do funny stuff at this angle – no matter how I rotate or skew this, it all looks wonky!

Zinnias also look good from behind! :-)

Moonstack #64

And here’s the Moon from January 31th. This one’s a bit more detailed than the previous one for some reason, but also not too heavily processed. I think the about 20 stacked images give it the edge! And don’t complain about the relatively low resolution – this was not shot through a telescope, but just with the 20x zoom (560mm in DSLR size) of my Canon Powershot SX1.

January Maple

Unfortunately I didn’t get a photo of our favourite maple tree when it had snowed from this perspective, but since the snow was just there for ONE day, this photo is maybe more representative for January! And it looks really nice with a bit of HDR treatment.

This Malva was irresistible!

The Zinnias were getting a bit long in the tooth at the end of August…

Return of the Age of Snow XI

Rowan branches in the foreground, other trees in the background – I have no idea why so much snow piled up on them, but it looked amazing.

City Views #348: City Walk 43

The previous photo looked at the lower entrance of Mülheim’s Forum shopping mall, but I figured it was time to get a new shot of the main entrance on the Kurt-Schumacher-Platz, which I did in mid-January. You can actually see all four highrises in this shot, although one of them is mostly hiding behind the tower above the mall entrance. Be sure to check out the colour version of this photo, it looks so much different than the monochrome!

More of the smaller Sunflower from August.

Moonstack #63

Moon from January 30th, again only stacked and minimally processed to look more natural for a change, which looks quite nice with the slightly higher resolution. The moon is really small at the moment, though – the days of the supermoon are long over! :-)
