Lunar Eclipse October 2015

We didn’t even expect we could watch yesterday night’s ‘Super Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse’, but we found a way to see it and it was absolutely mesmerizing. Because it was very late at night, we only stayed up until totality and I was completely unprepared to take photos, so most of them turned out to be somewhat blurry – but some were still good enough for a collage leading up to the totality. Those are the first lunar eclipse photos I’ve ever taken with a digital camera!

City Views #455: The Castle II

This is the Northwest entrance of Mülheim’s Schloss Broich, leading to the inner courtyard. This photo is from 2006 and even back then you could see that the castle walls were crumbling badly, but today they have been even further damaged by the elements and a security fence has been put around them to keep visitors safe. The city is so broke that restoration efforts have been hindered for years by the lack of funding. Be sure to check out the below colour version too, every photo of this series has one.
