Mülheim’s abandoned Kaufhof department store, empty since more than six years and probably ready for demolition later this year. It originally opened in 1957 and was a sensation back then.

Fresh from this evening – our local blimp was out even after sunset. The occasion was that the energy company RWE – whose headquarters are in our neighbouring city of Essen – had renamed their consumer branch into “innogy” (note the stylish lower case). Which I find a bit silly, to tell the truth!

This is the back of Mülheim’s old Kaufhof department store, which has been empty since six years and will maybe, probably, eventually be demolished sometime later this year.
