On this location much further East from Mülheim’s main railway station, you can look clear over the tracks to the buildings on the other side. Must be pretty loud in these houses!

This is the old malt factory east of Mülheim’s main railway station and from the new bicycle and pedestrian path you can look right up to it. Today, it’s an restored historic monument, but has been turned into a residential and office building – it really should be a museum.

Sometimes you’re so close to the trains on Mülheim’s new bicycle and pedestrian path that you think you can touch them! Also, I included this photo because this regional train was pulled by a surprisingly old locomotive, a Class 111, which was built between 1974 and 1984 and was once used in front of express trains and later especially our local S-Bahn. I have a soft spot for those because I own a model train gauge N version of this class in its famous grey-orange S-Bahn livery.
