The playground from the other side. The tree that looks like it’s about to fall over is a Walnut and it grew in this shape a long time ago. It still produces and insane number of nuts every year!

The building with the distinct roof on the left is the Rieken-Haus, which was built in 1955 around the same time as the Kaufhof – and it’s not being demolished. But this shot from December 15 might be one of the last photos with the department store and the Rieken-Haus together.
