The last of the December Moons from the 20th as the final photo post of 2016 – Happy New Year!

Lousy weather struck again for two days, but on December 19 the skies were clear again!

We had lousy weather from December 9 to 13, so the next time I was able to capture the Moon was on the 14th. The actual ‘Supermoon’ was one day before, but this is still pretty close!

The weather was a bit patchy in December, so the next Moon I was able to capture was on December 8.

I have some collected December Moon shots and I’m going to post them as the last photo of the day during and between the holidays. This one is from December 6!

This is yesterday’s almost-Supermoon again because we’re totally clouded out today – but this time processed as an HDR made out of three exposures, each stacked from 10 separate photos. I really have to mention that this is highly processed with massively enhanced brightness and contrast dynamic – the Moon doesn’t really look like this seen with the naked eye, but this way much more detail is visible.

It’s not quite the Supermooon yet, today it has 99% illumination, but it’s still the largest moon I’ve ever taken a photo of – it’s even bigger than the Harvest Moon from October 16!
