I had the opportunity to take some more Moon shots with the new camera in the last couple of days, this one is from the 10th and looks very crater-y! Taken with a Canon Powershot SX30, stacked from about 20 single exposures in Registax and only a little bit fine-tuned in PaintShop.

Moon #144 – SX30 First Light

Yesterday’s Moon, taken with my new Canon Powershot SX30. I’ve never been able to get this kind of resolution and detail out of my previous cameras – the combination of 14.1 Megapixels and the 840mm equivalent 35x zoom are really good for this sort of Astrophotography. As usual, I stacked this photo from about 20 single exposures with Registax to get the best quality.
