The Cologne Rhine riverbank in the direction of the Hohenzollern railway bridge again, partly obscured by a docked cruise ship – there are a lot of those anchored there.

Another view from the Cologne riverbank on the inner city – this is the Deutz bridge, which is somewhat newer than the nearby railway-exclusive bridge. At this location, the river is about 380 meters / 1250 feet wide, so it almost seems like a lake from here.

Finally we’re down at the Rhine riverfront in Cologne. This is a glimpse of the Hohenzollern railway bridge, which connects Cologne Deutz with the inner city. Together with the Cathedral, this is one of the main landmarks of Cologne and you can see it on many photos taken of the Kölner Dom from the other side of the river.

I’m not sure where I had actually taken this photo in Cologne, other than it was a quiet square somewhere between the Cathedral and the Rhine embankment.

Cologne’s Roncalliplatz, directly south of the Cathedral, which si on the left in this photo. The building directly ahead is the very recommendable Roman-Germanic Museum, which I unfortunately had no time to visit when I was there.

The entrance of Cologne’s main railway station seen from under the shadow of Cologne Cathedral. There are actually some steps leading down which you can’t properly see here in this photo!

I could not decide which one of the two photos
of Cologne Cathedral’s tower looked better, so I processed them both in monochrome.
