Cloudscapes #76

The second rainbow from yesterday – this one was somewhat higher in the sky and the double rainbow was much more pronounced. But not even HDR was able to fix the muddy grey sky!

The Maple Tree in front of our balconies from two days ago. The new leaves are just beginning to sprout, you can just make it out! The colours are a little bit enhanced with HDR.

Another Moon attempt with the multiple exposure method – this one was tone-mapped from three exposures, each stacked from about 20 images. I went a bit easier on the processing here, but it is still noticeable that brighness and contrast have a somewhat increased dynamic.

And now for something completely different: a green Beetle
I encountered yesterday on the supermarket parking lot :-).

Just for fun, a view of the big construction site near the river. This would fit great into the City Views series, but I want to keep it in monochrome and this shot only works really in colour. But the City Views will continue soon after I’ve sorted out some more photos!

The Rowan in front of our side of the house is getting bigger and bigger –
and makes a nice silhouette for a sunset!

This photo of Mülheim’s Stadthalle will be the start of a new series I’ve wanted to do for a long time as a companion to the City Views – I’ll just call it River Views because our town is not called Mülheim an der Ruhr for nothing. The river Ruhr flows right through it and we have a huge and amazing riverfront just a short walk from where we live. On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to take a short walk there and take some photos, something which I haven’t done in a long time. I will post some selected images from the complete gallery in the River Views series and then I’ll upload the whole gallery – I’m also going to do this with older reprocessed photos, because I have a lot of these in the archives. There will be river landscapes, some architecture and quite a few ducks, geese and other river inhabitants – most of the older photos are already up somewhere on the website, but I will only post better reprocessed versions. And to set the series apart from the City Views, it will be in colour, often even in HDR like this one!
