You know where you are when you see this tower along the train route!

Another shot from a bit further away of the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Denkmal at Porta Westfalica. There are apparently some restoration works going on at the base of the monument.

A reverse shot of Mülheim’s Rosengarten – in one of the previous photos, I was sitting on those white benches on the other side (that’s someone else sitting there in this shot!).

It started yesterday morning on Mülheim’s main train station, where I was waiting for my Intercity train to take me straight to Berlin. I took a couple of photos on the way to Berlin with the “small” Powershot SX30 and they didn’t turn out to be very high quality, but I like the rough, documentary-like style and I processed the best ones both in colour and black and white. To get through them more quickly, I’m posting them two at a time per day, partly because I already shot the first round of street photography today on a short walk around the Landwehr canal. But first a few impressions of he train ride!

This is Mülheim’s Rosengarten near the Freilichtbühne, which is, as the name says, a terraced garden of roses with a fountain in the middle.
