I’m sure the parents didn’t intend to leave the fifth baby goose behind,
in fact it was happily swimming behind the whole congregation!

I’ve taken this exact shot once before, but I wanted to try it with the new camera too!

At the end of May, I had taken the big Sony camera out for a spin on the riverfront for the first time and the results were pretty impressive. At first I was a bit apprehensive of not having the focal range of the SX30, but after a while I found out that the 17-50mm lens is really good enough for 90% of all situations and I only changed to the 70-210mm briefly to get some better closeups.

This was the second video I filmed of the swan’s nest – this was on Sunday, April 30, only one day before the nest was suddenly empty and abandoned. I was very lucky to have caught a brief glance of the eggs that time – there were only five left. There’s also the alternative Youtube upload as usual.

I almost forgot that I filmed a lot of the swans in their nest – here’s the first of the two videos. As usual, the embedded version here is hosted on my own webspace, but you can also watch it on Youtube.
