Yesterday, there was a hole in the sky!

Small Stuff

The big jets only come when the wind blows from the East, but the small planes from our local airport are always around. This Cessna 152 can often be seen in the air over Mülheim and Essen, it belongs to a flight school affiliated with Air Berlin which has its headquarters here.

Beijing Bound

This is also an Airbus A330, but it went the other way to China. I’ve taken photos of Air China’s jets before, but I seldom got the logo on the tail as clearly as on this one.

Off to L.A.

This A330 from Air Berlin was going to Los Angeles on one of the longest flights from Düsseldorf.

Cloudbreaker II

Here’s a better-processed photo of yesterday’s A340 – on this second shot, the wingtrail was not visible and I was able to crop it closer and filter the noise out. I have not been able to get a completely clear shot of this plane with the new camera yet, there was always some haze in the sky!

Cloudbreaker

This photo is extremely noisy, but it was the only way to show the wing trail this Lufthansa A340 left behind in the very thin cloud layer we had today. The white glow behind the wings is not a processing artifact, I believe this was also caused by the plane. I’ve seen this before, but not so distincly visible!

The Tinybus

I think this is an Airbus A318 – I love those little ones, they look like toy airplanes in the sky :-).
