Last month on July 15, the flood came. We didn’t know in Mülheim how bad it was in many other cities until the next day, but even I had never seen the Ruhr coming so close to the inner city. I went for a walk over Mülheim’s Schloßbrücke that day to document the masses of water thundering down the river and almost pouring into the inner city. I had already posted a video on the same day but held back on the photos to give some distance to the catastrophe and tragedy that occured.
