The second of the two photos I was able to take before the squirrel scampered off again :-).

It was only a matter of time until the squirrels conquered the balconies. I only wanted to take some bird photos, but then this cutie suddenly showed up and I even managed to get two decent shots of it.

I caught one of the squirrels on camera today again and this time I recorded in HD! It’s a little bit shaky and I had to downsize to 720p, but it still looks pretty good. This blog video plays locally from my own webspace, but here’s a Youtube version too if there are any problems with the WordPress player.

They must be somewhere… One of the few non-blurry
outtakes from the recent squirrel modeling session :-).

Chomp! I wonder why it was eating something looking like acorns when the tree
it was foraging under is a maple – the oak is on the other side of the backyard!

The squirrel was looking for food on the lawn – and it found a lot!
Here it gave me the classic squirrel pose :-).

We had noticed the Squirrels in the backyard before in the last few months, running over the roofs and jumping in the trees, but today I was able to finally capture one of them with the camera. It was gray, dark and rainy and the shots didn’t turn out very sharp, but it was foraging for food right in front of the balcony before it disappeard in the bushes. We have never had Squirrels before in the backyard and we’re thrilled to finally have them here, especially the rarer red ones!
