River Views #216: Springtime Birds 23

This was the second video I filmed of the swan’s nest – this was on Sunday, April 30, only one day before the nest was suddenly empty and abandoned. I was very lucky to have caught a brief glance of the eggs that time – there were only five left. There’s also the alternative Youtube upload as usual.

River Views #215: Springtime Birds 22

I almost forgot that I filmed a lot of the swans in their nest – here’s the first of the two videos. As usual, the embedded version here is hosted on my own webspace, but you can also watch it on Youtube.

Cloudscapes #178

Usually, I post still photos in this series, but I recently took some timelapses of the sky with my spare phone again and they are just moving Cloudscapes after all! Here’s a monster one from April 4 when I forgot the phone in the other room and had it running for almost five hours – you can even see the Moon rise at the end! This was taken with one frame every four seconds. The video embedded in this post is hosted on my own webspace, but you can also watch it on Youtube.

River Views #192: Winter on the Ruhr 31

I completely forgot that I had shot some video back in January and February down at the riverfront as a companion to the photo series – and now with my faster uplink, I’ve finally been able to uploaded them. Here’s the first one – as usual, the embedded video is self-hosted, but there’s also a Youtube version.

Robinsong

Here’s the video of that little Robin who was using the Maple as a broadcasting tower. I filmed this handheld, so it’s a little bit shaky and I didn’t want to use any filters, but you can really hear the Robin sing its heart out! This embedded version is locally hosted, but you can also watch the Youtube version here, although the quality might not be as good due to the reprocessing.

River Views #162: Autumn on the Ruhr 62

I ran out of photos from this series, but there are still some videos I took last Autumn when I was down at the riverfront. This is the first one of a three-parter I originally uploaded to Youtube in November, featuring Coots, Ducks and lots of Seagulls. This was the first time I was trying to use my new camera to shoot video, so it might be a little bit shaky in places – and the sounds in the background were from the department store almost directly behind me being torn down!

Balcony Birds in Motion

I shot this a couple of days ago on the balcony when it was too dark to take photos, but still bright enough to film! The first half is an unidentified LBB (Little Brown Bird, perhaps a Wren?) taking a bath and the second, of course, a Bluetit feeding on the Meisenknödel.
