Winter 2016 #2
More bare branches – also, I’m not going to write a comment
for each photo from now, they should be largely self-explanatory.

Last week, I took the opportunity of having slightly good weather for a change to shoot some tree photos, which I’m grouping this year under the Winter label instead of having a dedicated tree category. Somehow, I didn’t like the colour versions and I ended up processing all of them in black and white, although there is not one snowflake in sight here. This is, of course, the famous maple tree in front of our balconies seen from the side – in its (sadly) snowless winter dress

The only other flower I found yesterday in the neighbourhood – an apprentice daffodil that had not quite opened yet. Usually, they only come out in this spot in early March, but it’s just too warm this year.

No, I’m not kidding – it’s January 25 and I found some crocuses today outside! It was actually pretty warm today with almost 14°C/57°F after we had sub-zero temperatures only a week ago.

The Balcony Flowers Gallery of 2015 is making the start for the complete gallery posts from last year, which I have now finally integraded into my local album software. This gallery has all the flowers I shot on our own balconies, for flower photos from outside stay tuned for the next batch of galleries! Click on the preview photo above or on the link below to go to the gallery itself or you can wander over to my Google+ Profile or the Nature Gallery Collection to find the G+ version, although the locally hosted versions have a slightly better quality because Google Photos does a slight recompression nowadays.

This one from January 9 is definitively the last Balcony Flower for a while – we had some sub-zero temperatures last night and it seems this Nightshade flower does not seem to be winter hardy.
So now it’s time to post the galleries from last year – stay tuned for that! :-)

One more photo of the European Nightshade blossom from January 1st –
here you can see the berries it has produced.

And just for fun I’m going to seamlessy continue the Balcony Flowers into the new year with another photo of the now identified European Nightshade blossom from January 1. I only have a very few Balcony Flowers photos left right now, but I’m sure the first early spring flowers are not far away!
