ISS Flyover IV

Okay, I think I’m getting the hang of the new camera now. This is the ISS pass from about 0:33 to 0:40 a short while ago – travel direction is right to left in this 64-second exposure. I brightened it up a bit to bring the startrails out, but I left the noise in because filtering would just result in a blurry mess. I got the ATV transporter in a seperate image too, but I somewhat botched the first attempt – I’m going to post the second attempt tomorrow, or rather later today :-).

Blimp IV

Yesterday, we had a flying visitor again – the WDL blimp was making its rounds and flew over three times!

Blackbird Nest VII

Four! That’s the definitive head- or beakcount, unless there’s another one hiding in there :-).

Blackbird Nest VI

Two days later and the little birds have become somewhat bigger birds – real beaks and the eyes are open, as you can see in this slightly blurry photo taken from the ground. There are at least three hatchlings in there and I think I see a fourth beak in this photo. It’s getting very crowded in there!

A Whale of a Cloud

This cloud, moving slowly from north to south, reminded me of a whale with a calf swimming behind.

Springflowers LXI

A classic you actually don’t see very often anymore around here: Maiglöckchen alias Lily of the Valley.

ISS Flyover III

This is actually a botched photo, because the camera didn’t do the full 80 seconds I wanted it to do, but with a bit of cropping it looks nice, too. But this photo is amazing alone for the fact that I captured it at exactly the moment when Arianespace launched the ESA ATV-4 space freighter Albert Einstein to the ISS!

Old pianos never die…

When I saw the sad, battered piano standing on the sidewalk I couldn’t go by without taking a photo.

Jumpie VI

Say goodbye to Jumpie – this is the last photo of the nice jumping spider who modeled for me recently :-).
