The Pink Panther Zinnia

The right one took a slight detour :-).

With all the open flowers on the balcony, there is a constant traffic of bumblebees. I love it how they fly around us and are not in the least disturbed by those strange fleshbags sitting amongst the greenery :-).

It’s a zinnia party here today, but they’re too pretty to ignore!

A little garden in a zinnia :-).

All four of the inner city highrise buildings in a row, towering over the smaller buildings. This was shot in 2004 from the stairway to the old railway bridge, but it still looks the same today. The buildings were part of a huge city development project which had started in 1970 to build them together with a shopping center, a big department store and a multi-storey car park right next to the central train station. The construction began in 1971 and in 1973 two of the highrises were ready, while the shopping center was finished together with the third building in 1974. The last highrise – I think it’s the left one in this photo – was only built in 1977. More about them in the next photo tomorrow…ish.

These are growing like crazy this year, I think we’ve harvested the fourth or fifth one now…

More fun with the zinnias… I can’t resist these!

More experimentation with the flash, which I normally don’t use at all.

Yesterday’s startrail long-exposure experiment. Five exposures with 256 seconds each fused together, but unfortunately I didn’t think of using the intervalometer, so there are gaps between each exposure and the camera was a bit wobbly sometimes. I did some startrails before, but this was my first try capturing the constellations revolving around the pole star and I didn’t want to just throw this attempt away. I know I can do it better, and if the weather permits I’ll try it again soon!
