More of the white apple or peach tree blossoms that seem to be all around everywhere at the moment.

City Views #158: Viktoriaplatz Panorama

I’m going to widen the scope a little and make an experiment by posting some panoramas I’ve taken in the last few weeks. They’re not all completely straight and perfect and basically just test shots, but some turned out pretty good. This one is the view over Mülheim’s Viktoriaplatz with the new city library in the middle and the old postoffice in the background.

Still in Winter Mode

This tree hasn’t acknowledged yet that it’s spring, but it’s still early in the season :-).

The trees are beginning to bloom nicely too. This is probably an ornamental apple or peach or something.

City Views #157: The Door in the Wall

The northern end of Mülheim’s Eduardstrasse is just this, a slightly crumbling old wall with a ten or even more meter drop on the other side down to the Dickswall, where you can see a huge gap between the houses. Today, there’s just a parking lot on the other side, but once there must have stood a house – because there are remnants of a doorway or a window and even some cellar windows in this wall, which you can see in this photo. Today, there’s barbed wire on top of the wall, to prevent kids climbing on it – the top of the wall is quite wide, but the drop on the other side extremely dangerous.

One last photo of the migrating crane swarm – I have some more, but these were the best ones.

Springflowers #043

The only magnolia bush in the inner city is coming along fine too. But it might be its last year blooming, because the building it is standing directly in front of is supposed to be demolished later this year and the magnolia might be in the way. Knowing this city, the magnolias will probably just be cut down.
