City Views #707: Nature in the City 53
This is just a shot of the (in)famous supermarket parking lot that is now missing most of its trees after the June 2014 storm – but there are still a few left that have survived and were not cut down by the city!

Demolition
I heard loud knocking noises in the backyard this afternoon and to my surprise, there was a Woodpecker hanging on the wall of one of the houses right to the balconies – vigorously pecking a hole in the wall! There is apparently some insulation over the actual wall and he got into that, but it’s still astonishing to witness this. I’ve got a bit of video of it as well which I’ll post later sometime.
