Berlin’s Gedächtniskirche was almost destroyed in 1943 during a bombing raid and restored in its broken state as a memorial with a new church hall and bell tower constructed next to it. In Berlin slang it is also known as the Hollow Tooth!

Mülheim’s Wasserbahnhof is actually located on a sort of peninsula
between two arms of the river next to the ship’s lock.

This is the Schleusenkanal, the ship’s lock canal. I’m actually standing here on the lock bridge itself looking down at the lower water levels of the Northern part of the Ruhr.
