The Wall Museum is just what its name is – a museum about the Berlin wall. I didn’t go in there, but I took a couple of photos of this unique-looking building from the other side of the Spree.

Looking over to the East side of Berlin over the Spree river, you can see parts of the former wall and some new buildings. At the left is the Wall Museum and the wall remnants are actually the East Side Gallery, where artists from all over the world have been painting.

My first shot of Berlin’s Oberbaumbrücke, which crosses the Spree between the West and East part of the city. It was heavily damaged during WWII and subsequently somewhat repaired, but basically cut in half in 1961 when the Berlin Wall was built. After the reunification it was elaborately restored – the towers, which are now the most recognizeable part of the the bridge, are actually a reconstruction. It’s open for car and pedestrian traffic and as you can see the U-Bahn also drives over it once again.

Kreuzberg’s famous Burgermeister from the rear… it’s really just a former public toilet!

This is the famous Burgermeister fast food burger place near Kreuzberg’s Schlesisches Tor… located in a former public toilet! It was only 1pm and they hadn’t even opened yet and there was already a line.

This looks a bit like a castle, but it’s actually Kreuzberg’s Schlesisches Tor U-Bahn station!
