City Views #847: Out of the City 1

Here’s a new rule for the City Views: I know I always said I wanted to keep the series in black and white, but it just doesn’t make sense for a lot of photos that are less city and more country. So whenever I leave the actual inner city, I’ll switch to colour from now on! This first shot is actually the first view I get when I go out of the front door, but we’ll get to more greenery soon.

City Views #845: Altstadt XIV

This is the second church in Mülheim’s historic inner city – the Catholic St. Mariae Geburt – that looks radically different because it was built in 1929, much later than the nearby Petrikirche.

City Views #844: Altstadt XIII

The statue of Hieronymus Jobs, standing on top of a fountain that is now located at the East end of Mülheim’s Petrikirche. Jobs is a fictional character from a satirical poem of Carl Arnold Kortum, who was born in 1745 here in Mülheim. This statue has been in several locations around the historical inner city before it was finally moved to its present location right next to the church.
