A Coot and a Mallard swimming side by side – the Coot was actually much faster and in the process of overtaking the duck! Which is sort of amazing since Coots have only partially webbed feet.

It was a busy day at the riverront in mid-January with all the swans, ducks and geese (not pictured here, dozens and dozens of seagulls flying and swimming around off-frame!)
