More photos from the riverfront – the next couple are from mid-January. I have to post those as a buffer because I don’t have all those department store demolition shots sorted yet. Enjoy the waterbirds!

Here’s the last part of the small video trilogy I shot back in November down at the river.

Here’s the second part of the video, which actually starts quite serenely until you can see me being snuck up from behind by a group of Canada Geese. They wanted to go down the steps where I was standing and yes, I apologized to them in English and they seemed to understand :-).

I ran out of photos from this series, but there are still some videos I took last Autumn when I was down at the riverfront. This is the first one of a three-parter I originally uploaded to Youtube in November, featuring Coots, Ducks and lots of Seagulls. This was the first time I was trying to use my new camera to shoot video, so it might be a little bit shaky in places – and the sounds in the background were from the department store almost directly behind me being torn down!

Here, I’m back on the other side of the river looking over to the Stadthalle I was directly in front of in one of the previous photos. The Stadtbad is now directly behind me.

Far in the distance, you can also see the ship’s lock and one of the cruise ships at Mülheim’s Wasserbahnhof. Both the lock and the water power station form a river damn across parts of the Ruhr.
