City Views #377: Panorama 7

This is a familiar corner which I’ve never actually photographed from this perspective – the intersection of Mülheim’s Kämpchenstrasse and Oberstrasse. Almost all of the houses have appeared in previous photos, but never together in this way. As usual, I also processed an alternative colour version of this photo again.

City Views #376: Panorama 6

The next panorama from Mülheim’s Kämpchenstrasse, a bit further up the street from the other side – you can see the house that was in the far right corner in the previous photo a bit to the left from the center here. And of course there’s an alternative colour version again.

City Views #372: Panorama 2

Another panorama of the street we live in, this time from a perspective I’ve never tried before: my bathroom window! It turns out that it’s a surprisingly good angle to shoot a panorama of the street, although there’s again a stupid stitching error with half a car in here. But it still was too nice to throw away and I also processed an alternative colour version again.

City Views #371: Panorama 1

The previous photo was the last one of the City Walk sub-series, next up are a few panoramic shots I have taken to test out the new camera since November. This one picks up exactly where we were before and shows the upper West side of Mülheim’s Eduardstrasse with the elementary school in the middle. There are some stitching errors in the cars at the bottom I could unfortunately not easily remove, but since the rest fits together well, I decided to post it anyway. There’s also an alternative colour version.

A snowy street panorama, a really rare sight around here.

City Views #193: Mülheim Hauptbahnhof

This is a panorama of Mülheim’s main railway station seen from the square in front of its building, which is actually kind of wedge-shaped between the active line you see in this direction and the older, now disused and partially dismantled line. The building and the underpass below the tracks have been extensively renovated recently, but as you can see the top of the platform still looks very 1950s. It’s still not a pretty place to arrive and yes, this railway station still does not have toilet facilities anywhere – for that, you have to go, or run as it may be, a couple of hundred meters into the adjacent shopping center, which is behind me in this photo. There are some minor stitching errors in this panorama which I wasn’t able to fix without a lot of effort, but I just wanted to show this to get the previous photos in a bit of perspective.

Backyard Panorama – Earth Day Edition

Another look out the window at our “backyard” – this is from a couple of hours ago, I took it specially for today’s #EarthDay and #MyBeautifulEarth by Google+ and TIME to show our corner of the Earth.

Backyard Panorama – Mid-April Edition

Spring is really springing here, the trees are getting green and everything else is sprouting nicely, too. Shame about the April weather – I took this one this early afternoon and minutes later the sky was completely dark again. And it’s windy as heck, right now there’s a nasty rainstorm out there :-).

City Views #167: Street Panorama VIII

To cap off the panorama series, here’s one that is not actually a street panorama, since it was taken from our upper kitchen window. It shows the west side of the Eduardstrasse – you can see the residential buildings across the street on the left, the gym hall with the school and the houses which you saw on the previous photo further down. And of course you can see one of the inner city highrises looming in the background. I debated if I should post this one in colour just this once, but since it’s only beginning to get a little green it was still better in black and white.
