For some reason, Air China’s A330 came out a little hazy, but that might have been a slight cloud layer.

Here’s a compliation of videos I’ve taken with the new camera of our local airship flying in the last couple of days – this is from September 2nd, 7th and 10th. The Blimp has been around a lot this summer, now even with a new sponsor – our local power company, which recently changed its name.

Fresh from this evening – our local blimp was out even after sunset. The occasion was that the energy company RWE – whose headquarters are in our neighbouring city of Essen – had renamed their consumer branch into “innogy” (note the stylish lower case). Which I find a bit silly, to tell the truth!

Last Month, I saw our local airship fly at night – the new blimp has an internal lighting system!
This is slightly unsharp, but it’s not easy taking photos in the dark.

Most modern airplane liveries are boring and I was surprised to see something really colourful like this Cathay Pacific Boeing 777 going to Hong Kong in the local skies recently!

I always thought Lufhansa was the only airline flying the A340 from Düsseldorf – until I saw this Iberia jet fly over yesterday really low – so low that it barely fits in my usual closeup crop!

I’ve been taking a couple of shots of Lufthansa’s A340 in the last couple of days, but only this one turned out good enough because it always was too hazy before. This is the biggest plane flying in our direction – the A380 from Emirates Airways probably isn’t allowed to fly over the city that low!

Today is a holiday in Germany and of course the WDL Blimp was flying. It still didn’t come very near, but near enough to take a better shot! I also took some video, but I still have to edit and convert it.
