I completely forgot to share this video I took a couple of days ago of a completely zoned out hoverfly feeding on the sunflower. It’s only in 640×360 because my camera doesn’t support higher resolutions, but it’s still very detailed and I managed to keep the wobbling down to a minimum.

Just a fun video in between – now we know who is responsible for hoovering up all the corn from the bird feeder! The Great and Blue Tits may play a part in it, but now we’ve got visual evidence that the Wood Pigeons seem to be the ones eating the most of it :-).

I completely forgot that I had made another timelapse video last week, on the afternoon before the big storm. Watch out for the occasional bird zipping through and the airplane contrail at about 0:45!

This final one is shorter than the previous video, but it has some beautiful red tones from the sunset – which is on the other side of the house. All the timelapses were taken looking out to the east.

This is the longest timelapse yet – about 90 minutes stuffed into 45 seconds with 900 images.
And yes, there’s a bit of dirt on the window :-).

I completely forgot to post the other timelapse videos. Here’s the next one, still a bit short but it looks more fascinating because it actually kind of fades out in the end as it gets darker.

I had some problems with my old Powershot S2 recently and what better to get the camera going than trying to shoot some timelapse videos. This is the first one from three days ago – it’s ridiculously short because even at 20fps you need a vast amount of photos to get some length, but it looks amazing nevertheless.

I posted some pictures like this a couple of weeks ago, but when I found another ladybug sitting on the outside of the window yesterday, I also took some video. My camera only does 640×480 and I cropped this to 16:9, but here it is… a little macro-videography :-). [Note: I originally wanted to test the new WordPress video player with this, but I can’t get it to work at the moment – so it’s a Youtube embed for now.]

Gestern hatte ich ein bißchen mit Zeitraffer-Aufnahmen experimentiert, und das ist das Ergebnis – natürlich nur ein Test. Hochgeladen bei Youtube, weil ich noch keine vernünftige Self-Hosting-Möglichkeit für WordPress gefunden habe.

Bisher hatte ich von unserem Amselnest-Abenteuer nur die Videos bis zum 13. Juli hochgeladen, weil die Bearbeitung und Konvertierung sehr zeitintensiv ist. Jetzt bin ich aber endlich dazu gekommen, die restlichen Videos fertigzumachen und habe sie in die einzelnen Alben hochgeladen. Zusätzlich sind alle Videos der Übersicht halber jetzt auch einzeln in einem separaten Album untergebracht. Die Bildqualität ist aus Platzgründen nicht ganz optimal, aber ich denke, die Videos sind trotzdem sehr gut anschaubar.

Es gibt eine Menge zu sehen – von den ersten Fütterungen über die ersten Fluchtversuche bis zu einem (leider unscharfen) finalen Abflug ist fast alles dabei. Es sind zwar die letzten Videos, aber die Amsel-Geschichte ist noch nicht ganz zu Ende: demnächst werde ich noch ein paar Bilder von den fast erwachsenen Amseln in freier Wildbahn hochladen, die ich aber erst noch raussuchen muß.

Ergänzung vom 25.8.: die letzten Bilder sind jetzt in diesem Album online. Eine Bemerkung übrigens noch zum ersten Bild: die Amsel, die dort auf dem Balkonboden sitzt, war nicht verletzt, sondern nur erschöpft und ist mit etwas Starthilfe wieder in die Luft gekommen. Es sind zwar keine Bilder von allen drei Amseln gemeinsam dabei, aber wir haben sie alle gesichtet und mittlerweile haben sie ihren Aktionsradius schon weit über ihr Elternrevier ausgedehnt. Damit wäre die neue Amselgeneration jetzt flügge!
