City Views #6 – Petrikirche II

One last current photo of the Petrikirche – this one and the five previous photos were unposted images from 2009 and are actually HDRs converted to black-and-white – the colour versions are going to be part of a seperate gallery. But tomorrow I’ll post something from the old archives – I remembered that I had restored a couple of amazing photos from the 1950 a few years ago.

City Views #5: Petrikirche

The front view of the Petrikirche, the evangelical church in the old inner city of Mülheim. There has always been a church on this spot, but its present incarnation was built from 1870-72. It was bombed out in WWII, the top of the tower as it appears today was rebuilt in 1957. There are actually a few early photos in our archives (which I’m going to post someday) that show the church without its tower and the rebuilding in progress.
