City Views #225: Road Works I

Welcome to Mülheim an der Ruhr, where you can kiss your SatNav goodbye because there is always some construction work going on somewhere, often closing down whole roads. This happened at the corner just at the South East end of the block of houses we live in – a whole intersection on a very busy street is closed off and guess where the traffic is routed through instead? That’s right, the street we live in… now we really appreciate how quiet it normally is here!

City Views #224: Hospital Street

This is the view from across the street into the South West end of Mülheim’s Adolfstrasse, which can rightly be called Hospital Street because one side of it is almost completely occupied with the catholic hospital, one of the two big clinics in the inner city. The wall and its embedded little pavillon in the right of this photo actually belong to the hospital grounds – I have no idea what the pavillon was once used for, but today it houses an ATM machine.
