Those rectangular objects are actually almost directly opposite of the older Houses in Mülheim’s Kämpchenstrasse – these are the semi-highrises built on the area of the former army barracks which used to occupy the land until the early 1970s. I’ve been told the barracks looked very ugly, but the new occupants haven’t really improved the view much.

An experiment for the 50th stacked Moon from yesterday: I used the digital zoom of the camera for this to get a larger image which sacrificed detail, but it also allowed to get rid of a lot of artifacts in the stacked image, which I resized from 1200×1200 to 800×800 – I’m not quite convinced if this is really more detailed that a straight 600×600 crop, but it was worth a try. I’m not sure if I’m going to use this method again, though.

Another photo from the intersection of Mülheim’s Kämpchenstrasse and Paul-Essers-Strasse, but looking in another direction – this is the south end of the row of houses from the previous photos. Again, I processed an alternate colour version of this one to show how it really looks like. These houses used to be dirty brown years ago before they were renovated and repainted in those friendly colours.
