City Views #394: Cologne 16

I could not decide which one of the two photos
of Cologne Cathedral’s tower looked better, so I processed them both in monochrome.

The Great 2015 Solar Eclipse Fog-Out

As I wrote earlier over on Google+, this is all what we saw of the solar eclipse earlier today thanks to a fog that has been hiding the skies since yesterday. What we noticed was, though, that it got noticeably darker for a short time of about a quarter of an hour – but we just couldn’t see anything except a grey sky. It’s just as well that I hadn’t invested in any eclipse glasses or solar filters because, frankly, I was very doubtful of the weather report that said we wold have clear skies this morning.

Springflowers 2015 #15

Tiny blue blossoms, much smaller even than a daisy, are also reappearing. Although today is the first day of Spring, it’s cold, grey and foggy – this is from two days ago when it wasn’t quite so nasty!

Stony Yard

Stones don’t necessarily make a front yard pretty and even this
photo needed a lot of HDR post-processing to look interesting.
