From the top of the staircase that leads up to Mülheim’s old railway bridge on the West side, you can still see the inner city highrises peeking over the new buildings.

The old railway embankment on the West side of Mülheim’s old railway bridge. It’s still pretty wild up there, right now it’s not open to the public yet – but that might change this year.

This is not really on the riverfront, but I discovered that you can see Mülheim’s Max-Planck-Institut für Kohleforschung, the Institute for Carbon Research, from the top of the railway bridge in the distance!
