The Woodpecker was busy on the tree for such a long time on Wednesday that I had time to shoot some video as well. It wasn’t easy to keep the camera steady, but with the additional Youtube stabilization it turned out surprisingly good. Also, turn the sound up to hear the pecking echo around the backyard!
I completely forgot to post this – I made a timelapse with the help of my smartphone last month and it turned out very well. I used an app called LapseIt to take the photos and then put them together on the PC with VirtualDub. I’ve also made a second one, but I haven’t had time to upload it yet.
Here’s a compliation of videos I’ve taken with the new camera of our local airship flying in the last couple of days – this is from September 2nd, 7th and 10th. The Blimp has been around a lot this summer, now even with a new sponsor – our local power company, which recently changed its name.
Another Blimp video, although the first part is a little bit blurry. There’s also a Youtube version again with multiple resolutions in case the playback of this locally hosted 720p video does not work.
A little video of the WDL Blimp chugging slowly through the sky in the distance. There’s also a Youtube version with multiple resolutions in case the playback of this locally hosted 720p video does not work.
I caught one of the squirrels on camera today again and this time I recorded in HD! It’s a little bit shaky and I had to downsize to 720p, but it still looks pretty good. This blog video plays locally from my own webspace, but here’s a Youtube version too if there are any problems with the WordPress player.
Here’s a bonus to the recent pigeon photos – I recorded some video besides taking the pictures and while this is not the best quality and somewhat shaky in places, it’s definitively worth watching for the sheer slapstick comedy alone! I left the original 4:3 aspect ratio and I also deleted the soundtrack to keep the filesize small and because there was nothing to hear anyway.
Something different: here’s a short timelapse video I made shortly before Christmas with some impressive cloud layers zooming through. Unfortunately it’s somewhat unsharp because I shot it with the old camera and the lens messed up, but it still looks nice.
