I think I forgot to post this one a while back… it’s not easy taking a good photo of a bee
(or probably a wasp in this case) when it’s always crawling half into the flowers :-).

I noticed that I’ve only shown the yellow roses in closeups, but never the entire rosebush – it looks a little scrappy, but there are so many blossoms! And I think there are still some more off to the right.

Recently it occured to me that I had not posted any photos of my home town for a long time and when a fellow photographer on Google+, Justin Hill, mentioned that we sometimes take our city for granted and become oblivious of our surroundings, I decided to finally share some more images of Mülheim. These will be partly new and partly from the archives – the City Views series starts today with The Mousetrap (really Mausefalle in German), a little pedestrian tunnel directly beside one of the two churches in the old inner city.

I think I spotted one of the young blackbirds yesterday – it could be one of the hatchlings from last month!
