Next time I see one of the pigeons trying to eat from the bird feeder, I’ll shoot some video –
because this is not even the most ridiculous way in which they try it! Sometimes they grab the bottom rim of the feeder while flapping around wildly – but the feeder can take it :-).

Looking left walking to the west on Mülheim’s Muhrenkamp, you can see this old school building, which used to be a separate school until about ten or fifteen years ago, when it was closed and used by the nearby bigger grammar school for additional classrooms.

It was too dark to shoot photos, but video still worked somewhat –
so here’s a short half-minute clip of a bluetit at the bird feeder!
I knew it – the moment we put out the bird feeder again, the wood pigeons came back too. Oh well, as long as there are only two – the pair that seems to be at home in the backyard – and they don’t make a mess, I guess we’ll just let them be. They’re actually quite funny to watch :-).

At this point, a SatNav would probably say “Walk 100 meters and then turn right down the stairs” to go to Mülheim’s inner city. This is part of the Muhrenkamp, a very long street which runs over half a kilometer through the inner city with its East end right in our home neighbourhood. There’s still the old wall on the left which is stretching a length of about 70 meters, while on the left there are some of the older houses around here.
