I’m throwing in a colour HDR shot just for fun – we have some very strange weather today, alternating from heavy rainstorms to sunny intervals. It was so stormy that the Rose Monday carnival parades in many cities including ours were cancelled as a precaution.

I’ve taken photos of this peculiar house with the corner tower many times, but I couldn’t leave it out this time. There used to be a huge horse chestnut tree at this corner until a couple of years ago when the city had felled it because it supposedly had became dangerous – and although there has been a new tree planted this year, it’ll take a long time to get as big as its predecessor!

Since I don’t have much else to post, I might as well go on with the Cactus Flowers! Here’s the next one slowly opening up two days ago in a rare flash shot – usually, I prefer natural lighting with those.

Just a simple look down Mülheim’s upper Kämpchenstrasse – if it wasn’t for
the modern cars, this street would look exactly like it was about 100 years ago.

An unposted photo from late January which looked a bit sad because the top blossom was wilting. But we actually discovered that this bigger one of our two cactuses is again producing new blossoms right now, so we’re not finished yet… last year it blossomed all the way to the end of February!

It’s panorama time again with another view of this familiar corner, but now looking in another direction. Here you can see the contrast between the 1970s highrises and the older 1920s buildings.
