River Views #151: Autumn on the Ruhr 41

On the other side of the Ruhr, the old Kaufhof department store was being demolished. I took lots of photos of the demolition from late November to mid-January and will post them later as part of the City Views. On the lower part of this photo, you can see the exit of the Rumbach, the creek that used to run through the inner city and now flows underground. There’s also the new small harbour basin next to it.

River Views #150: Autumn on the Ruhr 40

A full panorama from Mülheim’s West side of the Ruhr from the halfway point between the two inner city bridges. I’ll be taking this again sometime in Spring and summer when it looks even nicer.

River Views #149: Autumn on the Ruhr 39

A view directly across the river into Mülheim’s inner city from the West side. The beige-ish buildings are completely new, only a few years ago it looked all quite different. The pier on the other side is actually the one with all the seagulls – if you look closely, you can see a lot of them sitting there!
