City Views #487: Highrises from the other Side

Here are the four inner city highrises from a perspective I’ve never shown them before – seen from the Northeast over the railway bridge. I had never been before at this spot and I wasn’t even sure if I would be able to see them, but they lined up surprisingly well. The left and the two right ones are residential buildings, but the second from the left with the additional elevator tacked on is called the Technisches Rathaus, the Tech City Hall where all sorts of, well, technical stuff is administered. This is actually right next to the shopping center, which you can’t see here because it’s hidden by the trees!

City Views #486: Train coming through!

There’s a footpath next to the street below the railway bridge east of Mülheim’s main railway station and some steep stairs are leading down to it. The trains are really close at this point and in this photo you can see an S-Bahn coming through – from here it is less than 100 meters to the railway station and when the trains go over this bridge, they usually go slow. Even if a train is not stopping, it has to slow down because both bridge and station are actually in the middle of a curve! In the background you can also see the inner city highrises, of which I’ll show a clearer view in the next post.
