After the Storm

I suspect it’s more a case of “between the storms” since there seems to be more bad weather on the way, but this is what transpired after the thunderstorm only a short time ago: a starry night. There might be a little more stars than usual in here, because I was not able to tell some of the dead pixels apart from the real thing – but I think I got most of them out. It’s a 15-second exposure, so everything slightly elongated should be a star, or a planet in case of Jupiter on the left (which looked magnificent through the telescope)!

Black and White

I actually did a monochrome version of this, but maybe this colour one looks better because the black and white Magpie stands out more. We suspect the Magpies have been breeding this year here – the oak tree across the “backyard” has revealed a big nest on top when the leaves came down.

Autumn Colours #33

After today’s heavy storm I suspect every last leaf will be gone – this is from November 13th.

Balcony Flowers #194

It’s incredibly wet and stormy today, so here’s one of the last Geranium flowers from mid-November.

Tree’s Up 2013

Yes, we’re late this year but now we made it. It’s still missing some
decorations, this is just the quick version with the lights.

Autumn Colours #32

It hasn’t snowed here yet, but it may at the end of the week. Until then, more colourful foliage! :-)

The very last and final photo of this year’s roses – from October 27th, but they’ll be back next year!

December Green

Believe it or not, this photo is from today, December 3rd. For some reason this tree does not seem to have gotten the message that it’s supposed to dress down to winter – it has still got mostly green leaves! This didn’t even need help from HDR, the colours are basically real only with a little warm white balance.

Tree-Moon

From mid-November, the Moon with some strange stuff orbiting around it :-). This is actually a composite from two images because I was not able to get the moon and the tree branches together in focus, but basically it’s just a kind of focus stacking so it doesn’t really count as “photoshopping”.

Autumn Colours #31

It’s already December, but that doesn’t mean that I have to throw the rest of the autumn photos away!
