Winter Migration 2014 #10

And we thought the cranes had already left – yesterday some more came flying through and I had the chance to try capturing them with the new camera. Unfortunately I fumbled a little too much around because in an emergency, I’m not used yet to the SX1 – but a few photos actually came out well. So here’s another round of migrating cranes!

Autumn 2014 #20

The birch and the oak on the other side of the backyard you can see in many of the photos I’ve taken from our balconies. Those trees are some of the youngest in the yard, maybe only twenty years old – I can still remember playing there in my childhood when there was just the lawn in front of the garages!

City Views #287: Oberhausen 9

Looking down at the main railway route between Oberhausen and Mülheim from the bridge that was part of the previous photo. The long lens shot exaggerates the busyness of the area a bit, but there’s even a freight train coming through!

The trees in the middle of the backyard are loosing their leaves one after another.
More HDR tryouts with the SX1 – I love how crisp those came out!
