City Views #197: Forum Tunnel

Some entrances to the cave world beneath Mülheim’s inner city – this is a side street of the Eppinghofer Straße not far from the main railway station. The white(-ish) building in the background is part of the shopping center, which was actually the old Hertie department store years ago. Further in the background are the ever-present highrise buildings. The tunnel to the left leads to the subterranean bus station which is next to the also subterranean subway and tram station. The other tunnel beneath the entrance with the “Forum” sign on top is a freight area below the shopping center for lorry deliverances and you’re only allowed to go to the right with your car where the entrance to the car park is. Confusing? If you’re used to Mülheim traffic, this is a piece of cake!

Return of the Jay II

I processed a few more photos of the Eurasian Jay that was briefly visiting our backyard recently. Here it’s looking a little goofy, probably because he was a little confused by all the commotion around it.
